Next to Fire and Medical Navigation by means of map and compass is one of the big three in our opinion.
It is an essential skillset for those wishing to be independent in their adventures.
Our nav courses are usually held in the Peak District or the Brecon Beacons and you can join us for one day or two (beginners on the Saturday, intermediate/advanced on the Sunday).
This event is held in one of the more remote areas of the Lake District. It is a two day exped covering soe of the most spectacular Fells including Bowfell, Crinkle Crags, Great End and Scafell Pike.
This is the mountain version of our exped skills course. We cover clothing and layer systems for the mountains, what to pack and how to pack it, mountain nutrition, where and how to acquire water whilst out, wild camping and we look at basic navigation by map and compass, GPS and route selection.
This would be a good introduction for those wishing to get away from the footpath and be more independent in the hills or a good follow on from one of our woodland courses.
Completed the Basic course? Gone away and consolidated those skills you’ve learned? Then maybe it’s time to join us on our intermediate survival and exped skills course. We only have two of these courses this year so don’t hang around -we have already sold half the available places for this popular course.
